Materials Used

Silver

All of the wire and findings (i.e. earwires, jump rings, clasps, crimps, etc.) used are either .925 sterling silver, or 99% fine silver. I spend a little more money, and buy from reputable sources, who guarantee their products.

14K, 18K Gold
All of our chains, in both 14K, and 18K are Italian made, and are of the highest quality.

Gold Filled
We do not use vermeil, which is a silver product with a gold plating over it.  All of our gold filled, is highest quality gold filled. It acts very much like 14K, and will not tarnish, or lose its color.

Beads and Gemstones
Unless otherwise noted, all of the gemstones we use are genuine. We do not use glass, or fabricated stones.

Swarovski crystals are sometimes used to enhance a piece.

Sometimes a gemstone will look as if it has a scratch or cut inside. This is not a crack, but a flaw. Flaws are a natural part of gemstones, and sometimes cannot be avoided. Black marks inside a stone is also a flaw, or a carbon deposit.

Pearls
Unless otherwise noted, all the pearls used are Fresh water pearls, and some are dyed. Fresh water pearls are farmed in the oceans of India and Japan, where they control the oyster from start to finish. These are not faux pearls, or man made. Sometimes we will use very large Mother of Pearl pearls for accents.

Jewelry Care

Pearls

The oils from your skin will make the pearls radiant, but perfume, makeup or hairspray will dull them. They should be kept in a pouch when not being worn. To clean, use warm water, liquid soap and a soft bristle brush. Dry with a soft cloth and let completely air dry. Wear them often to maintain their luster.

Sterling

Sterling silver tarnishes and may be cleaned with a non-abrasive silver polish such as Tarnex. Be careful not to get polish on the pearls or stones, as it could remove the shine! Use a toothbrush, or even a Q-tip to place the Tarnex exactly where I want it. Wash with warm water immediately. Please follow the instructions on the Tarnex bottle. It is highly toxic, so be sure to wear gloves.

Put silver pieces in a plastic bag while not in use. This keeps them from tarnishing.
